Mrs. Hammer's Second Grade Class

Hello, and welcome to Second Grade at Notre Dame Academy Elementary School! My name is Mrs. Hammer, and I will have the pleasure of working with your children this year.
My educational background is in English Literature, which I studied at the University of California, Santa Barbara. I have an immense love of reading and story telling, both of which I hope to share with the students this year! After receiving my B.A. at UCSB I attended California State University, Northridge where I earned my Multiple-Subjects Teaching Credential. Besides reading, I love running on the beach with our dog, Bruno, giving excessive belly rubs to our cat, Cheddar, cooking, and cleaning. Yes, I actually enjoy cleaning. There are so many things that I love about teaching, but I will try to narrow it down to a few: I love the innocent and genius statements that come out of seven year olds’ mouths; I love seeing the spark of excitement and understanding in a child’s eyes; And I love that I get to play with kids and make learning fun 180 days a year!
