Student Drop Off & Pick Up Procedures
Drop-off, Pick-up & parking at NDAE
Being in a neighborhood we are restricted as to where we can park and drop off our children. It is imperative that you respect the directions given by the school so we can continue to operate in compliance with our permit.
Drop-off and Pick-up
As a condition of the Conditional Use Permit of our school all drop-off and pick-up of students must take place in the elementary playground. This means it is illegal to drop-off or pick-up your child anywhere else. A blue "E" sign for your car will be provided to help us maintain a proper traffic flow.
In the morning:
Cars enter the schoolyard by turning righ tonto Clarkson from Overland. A left from Overland can be dangerous and we do not encourage it. You will turn into the play yard and be welsomed by parents who will let your child our of the car. Kindergarten children will sit on the benches to the left of the stairs and a teacher will escort them down to the classroom. The gate will be open from 7:15 am - 8:15 am. If you are late and there are no parents or teachers outside, please park on the yard and walk your child to the Kindergarten classroom.
In the afternoon:
Cars will enter the schoolyard in a similar fashion as in the morning. The gate is open from 2:50 -3:30. Please do not block either driveway on Overland, High School students need to exit and a teacher may need to exit also. It is also courtious to not block the crosswalk. YOU MAY NOT WAIT ON OVERLAND AND DOUBLE PARK. If the line on the curb is full, you must continue to National turn right and circle the neighborhood until the lane is clear. You may prefer to arrive after 3:00 to avoid the congestion. Teachers will walk your child to your car. All cars will exit to the right and turn down Selby and continue straight down Malcolm. YOU MAY NOT TURN RIGHT ON Selby in front of the Kindergarten classroom as the High School uses that for their pick-up lane. U-turns in the cul-de-sac are prohibited. Thank you for your understanding with this policy.
